Beschreibung:

When I first saw "Bob's Track Builder" I was blown away by how easy it was to get a basic track layout going. I do a bit of work with online mapping software, so it occurred to me that it would be great if you could use some of the features provided by this software to get some real-world layouts into BTB even faster. With the latest release of the "Pro" version of BTB it now supports importing of GPS data, so there was nothing stopping me from completing my little tool.

Hopefully this will come in handy for those people who have already supported Piddy and purchased Bob's Track Builder. For anyone else who's been considering the purchase, maybe this will convice you that it's worth the investment

So without further ado... here's the download and the information from the ReadMe.txt:

What Is It?

The application uses an embedded browser control to host the Virtual Earth (VE) mapping service, and then uses VE API to let you to build a circuit using the built in routing functions. It then exports this data to a CSV text file that describes the offsets (in meters) of each point along the route. At this point you can then import the data into "Bob's Track Builder" (http://www.bobstrackbuilder.net/) or anywhere else that may support this data format.

BETA Warning!:

The current version has had very limited testing, and I'm sure there are bound to be a host of unanticipated problems. It really is a Beta release at best, but I have no real way of knowing how stable it might be in other environments. I will do my best to try to resolve any problems that are discovered, however I have very limited time to work on it, so the progress may be slower than you'd like. Hopefully a few people will find it useful!

Prerequisites:

Microsoft .Net Framework 2.0 (available from http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/d...displaylang=en)

Installation:

Extract the compressed file using any application that supports the RAR format (e.g. WinRAR - http://www.rarlab.com/) into any directory you'd like. Run the executable!

Instructions:
-------------
The application itself is pretty self-explanatory. Follow the steps along the bottom of the screen and then specify the name of the file to create. The application uses the built in routing functions of Virtual Earth to automatically generate the points along the route.

The tool in it's current form is not particularly useful for generating data for anything other than street circuits where accurate routing information is available. In my testing, the Nordschleife is absolutely not possible, while the Isle of Man course is remarkably easy (can be captured with around 5 clicks!). Obviously accuracy is limited to whatever routing data is available, but it should be enough to get your track going. I should also point out that at the end of this process, at best you will have a fairly accurate 2D version of your track. If you have GPS data with the elevation available, this is likely to be far better and will save you a lot of work with manually trying to match the elevations.
